VuFind, an open-source discovery layer, empowers libraries to offer a modern and feature-rich interface for resource discovery. Developed by an engaged community of libraries, developers, and institutions, VuFind replaces traditional OPACs with a comprehensive search and browse platform. Its goal is to seamlessly connect users to a library’s vast array of resources, including electronic journals, images, and ebooks, promoting efficient discovery and access. With a commitment to user-friendly design, accessibility, and continuous improvement, the VuFind Project showcases the power of open collaboration in advancing library technology and enhancing the overall user experience.

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) is a pivotal force in the advancement of information standards within the global information community.
