Index Data  >  About Index Data  >  Vision

To be a technology innovator through the development of Open Source and Open Standards-based infrastructure components and end-user solutions; to use our skills and services to build bridges between people, technologies, and organizations, lower the cost of high quality digital library services and empower librarians to assert control over the software needed to provide these services.

In support of our vision, we are striving to accomplish the following objectives within the next two years:

  1. Provide a software infrastructure based on open architecture, open standards and open source software that will improve information discovery among diverse resources in a networked environment.

  2. Enhance MasterKey so that it becomes a model for the future of library search services.

  3. Support the widespread deployment of Pazpar2, the open source middleware on which MasterKey is based, so that it becomes a pre-eminent open source foundation for advancing information retrieval services within the library community.
